“Thinking Out Loud”

In my work I often start with ideas from contemporary culture and our shared humanity. These ideas energize my mind as I begin the creative process and then I apply filters that focus the work into form, texture, palette and broader themes.

For “Thinking Out Loud”, I have applied fewer filters to allow more freedom of expression across ideas that may not be logically connected. As I made my way through the work, pushing toward more abstraction, I often arrived at a place I did not envision, but to me this is the thrill of being an artist and the joy of creating.
